The only remotely artistic things I do involve cars. Often my own....

I like it as a hatchback. I love the old Peugeot hatchbacks.

I drew inspiration from saabs. Main advantages of the hatchback design is aerodynamics and additional cargo room, I like both.

What makes them more aerodynamic?

Less airflow separation between the roof and the base of the trunk. The most aerodynamic shape is a raindrop, that's why they form naturally the way they do.

No problem, I need to do some more photoshops or find somewhere I've hosted the other stuff I've done :wall:

Branch out, try some other types of cars. Experiment more ....

I have, I've done probably 20 different cars. Some for friends some for fun. I just don't have links and the computer I did most of my stuff on isn't plugged in.

You're very talented with photoshop! I think the modified sedan is pretty cool. I like the purplish tint you gave it. :)

Thanks. There was a similar color available on these cars but it was more blue and less bright. I always imagined that it would make one of the BEST colors for these cars if done right.

pistonhead,, nice job with the car art, looks good tinted and with those wheels. those wheels remind me of my dad's friend's BMW.

I read that you fix cars too?? cool!

Sorry I didn't respond didn't notice that you posted. I do work on cars almost 90% of the time when I'm outdoors. 10+ spoke wheels tend to be associated with sporty luxury cars. I personally find that they fit in with a BMW M3 or a Corvette better than just about anything, especially when they are nice BBS ones. The ones I used are ASA AR1s I believe which were based on BBSes but are cast rather than forged, though they are made with permission and are of decent quality unlike some "copy" "clone "chinese" or whatever you want to call them wheels (like Rotas).

My main reason to revive this topic is because I found one of my old works in progress. A visually edited and reduced to body lines picture of a MKIII Toyota Supra

Image

I don't have the original picture to compare it with but here's an example of what it would look like from the factory, the main difference between my version is the front bumper cover extends down further and has a larger grille with comparatively more obstructions per square unit of measure. In other words mine would cool better, have less lift and in my opinion looks way better. If only I had completed it :( maybe I'll get back on it soon.

Found another one. Not my best work but more complete. The idea behind this was that Maximas have 205 width tires, can fit 235 width as is, but I figured out that if I spaced the fenders out another 40mm and ran a wider lower offset wheel it would look great and I could fit 275 tires (not something I'd do on my car personally since I do have to drive it on narrow roads). Some enthusiasts spend way more money (think 4 digits to the left of the period) getting "wide body kits" but I'm all for doing ghetto things and then massaging them till they look right. While I was at it I added BMW E36 Headlights (a common modification), attempted to make a BMW E92 M3 GTR bumper fit the car but gave up and put on a Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II Nur which still doesn't fit the car great, especially with my little side extensions.

Still looking for more. I did just find a pencil filter and lightly touched up picture of a BMW E92 M3 race car that I did after that last sketch. The main things you'll notice are no decals and no mirrors. The way I see it, it's a race car. Why do you need mirrors? If anyone has something to say to that don't. If anyone else is on the track trying to pass you they should know to stay away from your sides when you might turn the wheel - especially if you don't have mirrors! Not to mention that mirrors can contribute up to 15% of the aerodynamic drag in a production car. These mirrors look aerodynamically designed but they are huge so they had to go.
