I am on the autistic spectrum, and it is amazing how music helps calm me down as if I were LFA (echolialgia etc.) but I like bach, mendelson, vivaldi, and mozart

:D

I think I like most of the composers from baroque through to modern classical, eg Stravinsky. Except Mozart. I find his music to be superficial, and I really have to be in the right mood for it.

I just started listening to Stravinsky, the right of spring and firebird suite. Awesome stuff!

Do you mean superficial in the sense that it could be considered the 'top 40' of its time? I get that feeling with a lot of the cheerful, uptempo stuff. Although i dont know what era/composer(s) it would be.

Grew up on a bit of classical, can't say it was that much of a forming experience but I agree with you about music having that kind of power. I guess I could say a dj's saved my life once or twice, not as literally as with some people but definitely rekindled my passion for music and through music my passion for life ;)

Yes. Discover the geniality of Bach. In some of his piano inventions or fuques..

JS Bach, Pachelbel, Vivaldi, and Purcell are my favourite Baroque composers.

PS: Mozart falls into the Classical period - period after Baroque :)

Another Baroque lover here...Bach's my favourite by a mile.

BTW, I don't suppose anyone could name the music from the opening sequence of The Royal Tennenbaums? It's not listed on the soundtrack album.

It definitely wasn't Hey Jude (it'd be a stretch to describe that as baroque)...I must have it confused with a different movie.
