It happens. Sometimes your favorite bands will put out a song you don't like. So, let's see what you come up with.
Here's some from me:
B-52s: "53 Miles West of Venus" and "Downtown" (yep, it's a cover of that song"
Beatles: "I Am the Walrus"
Red Hot Chili Peppers: "Porcelain" and "If"

Happiness Is A Warm Gun by The Beatles. How could such a great group record such an awful song like that?

Indeed. They made so, so, so, so many amazing songs that they were bound to make some bad ones, I hate to say :(

"Askepios" by the Mars Volta - It pains me that this song came from the same creative force behind De-loused in the Comatorium (which is one of my all-time favorite albums). Once the song gets going, it's actually not all that bad-- but it's all the detours the band takes beforehand that I find hard to swallow. I know Cedric and Omar have a taste for experimenting with how far they can push the music into the realm of noise and voice distortion before they have to steer back into something that seems to have an at least somewhat recognizable structure; even on De-loused they did that. But on De-loused, they pulled it off because their sense of timing and balance was impeccable. On their more recent albums, they occasionally seem to get lost while indulging in their little tangential asides and throw the song off-kilter completely and irrevocably. The second refrain of "What have you brought for my appetite?", with the abrupt stop, the clicking speakers and the rather obnoxious low tone of the distortion of Cedric's voice, always makes me cringe a little.

"Beside You In Time" by Nine Inch Nails - I know of some reviews of With Teeth which have mentioned this one specifically as having a good emotional payoff at the end. I won't deny that it has a good climax, but in my opinion that can't even begin to redeem it for its first three-and-a-half minutes being relentless droning.

"Ddiamondd" by Battles - Yeah... this one I just find completely annoying. I love most of Mirrored (especially "Race: In", "Atlas" and "Tonto"), but I usually skip over this one completely.

I don't really know of any songs I hate by the bands I love. If I love a band I usually love all their songs. Though my least favorite Green Day song which means I still love it, is 21 guns.

I would go off on this if we we were on an actual music fourm, but I'll just respectfully disagree for now.

By the Beatles though, I'd go with All Together Now. So corny.

"Lithium" and "Call Me When You're Sober" by Evanescence

"The Son Never Shines on Closed Doors" by Flogging Molly (Not a typo. It makes sense in context.)

"Pyromania" by Cascada (Very creepy and too slow. It is very uncharacteristic of the type of music that made Cascada famous, which is cheerful dance music. However, there are remixes of "Pyromania" online which speed it up, and it sounds much better that way.)

Anything made by Aqua after their Aquarius album.

skunk anansies "f*****g political". it could have been good but instead it was just harsh screaming with simple lyrics.
the sex pistols "bodies". i do not agree with their anti abortion sentiment and i think they over simplify the matter and demean the women who choose to have one.

I forgot one before, but it's a really big one.

"Linton Samuel Dawson" by Porcupine Tree - Hate it, hate it, hate it. There are a few songs on ...On The Sunday Of Life that I really like (such as "Radioactive Toy"), and without exception I love everything the band did from Up The Downstair onward... but "Linton Samuel Dawson" is just too quirky and psychadelic for my tastes. I guess it's to be expected with a band that originated as a joke-- some of their really early material is completely anathema to everything that is great about what they became. I'd never realized how huge an influence late-era Beatles were for Steven; it's really obvious on his early songs, where he's making overt references to acid trips. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but as someone who is adamantly avoidant of recreational drug usage myself, it sort of puts me off a bit. Plus, I'm really wary when singers start putting the chipmunk effect on their voices-- it can be used in a way that doesn't bother me (I mentioned "Atlas" by Battles earlier), but that's not the case here.

Once a die-hard Stevie Wonder fan challenged me to come up with ONE bad song he ever sang.

I agree that Stevie Wonder is one of the geniuses of our era.

However--"Ebony and Ivory."

I'm a HUGE fan of Paul McCartney. But I gotta say this HAS to be one of the most embarrassing moments between two songwriting greats!

Miley Cyrus cover of Nirvana's, "Smells Like Teen Spirit". I'm surprised Kurt Cobain hasn't risen from the dead to stop her

Pink Floyd's The Final Cut. All of it. Even David Gilmour once described that album as "meandering rubbish". I agree.
