I went to my first poetry reading last month; just to seek it out and what it is about. Today was my Grandma's 80th birthday party. I read a poem to her about her, and I cried before reading it and had my family crying while I was reading it. I then read a poem to my whole family called Family's Bond. After that I finished it off a poem for Happy Father's Day to my Grandpa and made him cry since I won't see him on Father's Day. I had a successful poetry reading. I had so many compliments that it made me feel good and confident to read out loud again. So this Saturday I am going to a Poetry Reading and I am going to read 3 poems. I am so nervous but excited. I just wanted to share a huge accomplishment for me. =)

A few times, but I hate reading my own work.

Would you rather other people read it or just keep it for yourself? Have you ever been published? Or want to be?

I'm okay with others reading. I am publish, though only in journals. I want to publish a collection, but I have a play and a nonfiction book to finish first.
