I won't say I know too much about him, however, I've heard that he was, well, that he was fond of children, especially the girl he based Alice on, in a not very appropriate way. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this?

I've heard the same, though at this late stage it's probably impossible to prove, or disprove, for that matter. It doesn't take away from the fact his books and poems showed great creative genius. I've always liked them and I have memorized several of his poems, and I usually don't like poetry.
