They're called Sound In The Hall Records! Another local act I see called The Enthusiastics is on them. My band is called Inversion, and I am the lead singer. I know a local label wont be getting us to play a stadium, but the fact that they were interested in our self made demo gives me much confidence!

Hell yeah man! Good luck with that. Just be wary of them trying to take advantage of you because they think you are 17 and naive. Although it's a local label, read the fine print. I know you probably know that, but it's still worth pointing out. Best wishes to you.

ohhh ive heard. one of the members in my band is a stickler when it comes to legal s**t like that. Im pretty sure studio time is free. Theyre meant for young local acts. but yes, always aware of the scams!

Go for it!

When I was 19 I had a chance of signing up and going pro. I turned down the offer and split the band, because I would have had to quit my secure day job. It is the only regret I have in life, not knowing what could have been.

Two of the band members formed a new band with another bassist and went on to have some success in the UK. Their best achievement was to get a song to No 3 th the UK charts.

Anyway I have been steadily successful in my career so perhaps it was the right decision for me.

I still enjoy playing bass and I am still gigging at 52. Next gig at the Wanch in Wan Chi, Hong Kong, from 23:00 - Late, on 22 July (Quick - Plug).

Our goal is to eventually try living off of the music, but through college and our 20s, stabilize ourselves and work hard so we have something to fall back on. Like, if I could live on touring, it would b a dream, but if i still have to work a computer job, thts ok since i love computers :D

I wish you success. One word of advice though: don't let it turn into "just another job". One needs to enjoy and feel the music to make it come alive.
