Aerosmith had Revolution X--it came out in 1993 or 1994.

(I am old school when it comes to video games)

Mega Man X's series have some relation with Guns N' Roses

* Some songs of the series are very similar to some songsof Guns 'n Roses, for example, the background song of Neon Tiger's stage (Mega Man X3) is very similar to the song "My Michelle".

* Check the name of some Mega Man X's series characters, and compare it with the names of the members of the band:
- Axl (MMX7, MMX8)
- Slash Beast (MMX4)
- Duff McWhalen (MMX5)
- Squid Adler (MMX5)
- Izzy Glow (MMX5)

omg, can't believe no-ones mentioned Quake. Nine inch nails did the entire soundtrack.

The NIN logo was even put on the nailgun ammo pickups.

Is it a rule of thumb that games based on rock stars stink? Or just my experience?

The quake soundtrack rocked however :D

Way back when, the band Journey had a couple of games.

I'm not exactly sure how well they were received by the general public, though.

Final Fantasy drew inspiration from classic rock, and Uematsu is a huge rock fan.

Can't forget the Black Mages, either. Oh, wait, that's the other way around... Oh well, it's still good music. You should go listen to it.
