New Vignette
I think this could be considered a vignette. I wanted to write for a while today and this is what came out. It is a dialog between two people. There are no descriptions of where they are, how the environment affects what their conversation is about. What their roles are in each other’s lives. It is only a string of conversation. Questions and answers. Are the words less important if we do not know when they happened how they happened and who spoke them? Are environmental distractions vital to writing? I am not sure.

Tell me what you see when you are sad.
I see a flower.
A flower?
Blue.
A blue flower.
Yes. Blue. It has thick petals and its a little lighter blue on the inside. The plant has thorns too.
Why thorns?
Thorns are fun to draw. They are sharp and cover the vines around the flower. Bugs cannot eat it, if the thorns hurt them.
Are they safe?
Of course not. They are not safe for bugs, or people. Thorns hurt.
Have you ever been hurt?
Yes. But everyone has been hurt. We all fall and scrape our knees or elbows at some point. We all get confused at something we don’t understand.
Why do you like this flower?
Its thick and its pretty. I love it because it is pretty. I don’t think I need to have another reason. Or something bigger. I like it because it is what it is.
Does this flower represent something for you or about you?
It is a flower. I am a girl. Sometimes boys give girls flowers but no one has ever given me flowers, not even blue ones. So I don’t think it represents anything. It is not connected to memories of people or feelings, just memories of other flowers, blue flowers or other blue things.
