For some time, ever since I started playing DooM, I took a preference to listening to MIDIs with a good soundfont (e.g. Chorium). Like I have my preferences to heavy metal over pop and dubstep, I felt as though MIDIs were interesting and very catchy if matched up with the right soundfont, and I do listen to them on a frequent basis. I also like MP3s compiled from a MIDI (if it's with a soundfont I like), and soundtracks that were made from MIDIs. Anybody else share the same opinion as me? If you don't, that's fine.

I use Noteworthy Composer as my music notation package and it can read or write midi files. I use van Basco to listen to them since it displays lyrics if they are on the file.

Midis are good and I love how you can add and take away the layers of songs, I have never made a midi myself but I have used a similar thing called MML which is good too
