:o i am immensely jealous. I greatly admire john for the effort he took to write his book. Personally it has helped simplify me life a great deal. Until I read it the only thing I has to associate with my aspergers syndrome was a friend who was fully autistic with a secondary diagnosis of OCD. Next time you require a service, If you remember this message. Please tell him. That his book has reached out to even Australia and helped others in the autism spectrum struggling with acceptance to become understandable to others.

I used to work in a really store in customer assistance and struggled horribly and the boss never understood this, as I never needed the digital aids, after a few months of employment he approached me on this, and all I did was explain my condition and lent him the book. After he finished he offered me a transfer into it systems and development, and now the store every years runs an awareness campaign on the 'hidden disabilities.'
Personally I have a lot to thank john for.

And out of idle curiosity is your varmint part of your name inspired from his naming of his brother or unrelated and just coincidental in the topic?

There is more? I must look this up! Most my age have a hero who is an athlete or something like that. Personally my hero is any aspergian making an effort to be someone. And being proud to stand up and say. "hey this is who I am, I can't change it as much as you can control your bloodflow "

Yeah, he has two books out as of my typing this. Look Me in the Eye is more of a memoir, while Be Different is a kind of combination of a memoir and... advice? That doesn't seem like the right word, but I can't think of another. Either way, I really liked it; I actually read it before I read Look Me in the Eye.

Thank you so very much for making aware to me. Would it be to much to (inaccurately) quote the aliens from toy story? "you've improved my life I am eternally grateful."

ahh, someone who actually knows something about their region then just the name and town!. very rare these days, i live in a town that for the last 70 years has been spelt incorrectly! i live in a town named Katherine, which is named after my great great second aunt Catherine, the naming done by the guy who crossed australia south to north! the town was misspelt in the first recording of the name, and no matter how much he complained it was never changed.
