I am just beginning to learn Logic pro 8 and I was wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction in regards too some decent tutorials? I have been on youtube and so far I have seen some of Sonic Ninjas and Craig Williams tutorials, which are excellent but not what I am looking for at the moment. I want to do a remix and I know exactly what I want to do but getting frustrated as I cant find anything giving me clear instructions from starting the remix to finishing the remix, once I have seen the process I will be able to go from there.

While I am learning I want to start with remixes so I can learn my way around the program and learn about track layouts, arrangements and the many capabilities within the program, once I have cracked this then I will move on to making my own track from scratch.

I have had logic for about four Months now and I have heard that the learning curve is quite steep for a beginner, this is proving to be correct! I have many ideas but at the moment I am finding it terribly difficult to get my ideas into motion!! I know eventually I will get it as I will not admit defeat!! !

Thanks and I hope somebody can help me!!

Let's see if there are any resident musicians who can help.

I don't know a lot about Logic Pro 8, historically I worked mostly in Reason 4 with later stuff in Ableton Live or Protools.

As far as Youtube, I don't know if the Masterclass tutorials will help; I know Alix Perez has one where he uses exactly your program, Logic Pro 8, John '00' Fleming also has a Masterclass for Logic Pro but I'm not 100% sure whether he was on 8 or 9 with the video series (though I doubt it would make a *huge* difference).

I'd just say look for tutorial DVD's, if you can find some of those you'll get deeper into the mechanics. Short of that you may find some good Youtube videos in general that go even more direct to the beginner/intermediate topics than what I mentioned above. Other than that, if you're looking for some amount of mixing advice - I *might* be able to help.

Check out anything you can find by Dean Marriot. He currently records under the name D.Ramirez. He has done quite a few Logic specific tutorials and his site has a tech forum. He's a very nice, very down to earth guy. I've used Cubase, Logic, Live and Reason 4,5 & 6. I've finally settled on Cubase 6, Live and Max for Live and I love Kong and Reason's synths and I prefer woking with audio, so I use Reason 6's plug ins and bounce to audio. All DAWs are fundamentally the same. If there's anything specific you need to know let me know and I'll try and help, if I can't help directly I'll try and get the info for you.
