if I remember correctly this paritculer section of Wrongplanet is called, Art, Writing, And Music.

So are is the Art and Writing!! !???

I mean, I love music just as much as any one else, But I love art more! why does no one talk about Art!!? Or Writing!!?
it's driveing me crazy!

Don't tell me that no one else likes Art or Writng. there has to be others.

all I want is to see those with aspergers who like art and writing to step up and let their voice be heard more than all the music we get around here.... it's deperessing to see that no one apriectates Art and Writng.

You can always start other topics. Personally, I can't talk about my writing here because it's mostly for adults, and there are restrictions on that.

Hey I posted two poems just yesterday. :P

I can't share most of my writing because I'm hyper-anxious whenever I share anything with anyone else. :P

But as far as graphical art goes... well, I've only done a few bits in the last several years, so not much to show off. I'm the opposite with my graphical stuff as I am with my writing; I know I'm good at that, and don't get so stressed over criticism since I've dealt with nightmarish customers in the past... I have a really thick skin for it now.

Hah! I've made the same complaints about this forum in the past. I'm a songwriter. There are actually quite a few writers and artists that share their work on this forum if you watch it enough. Unfortunately for me and others like me, not so much is shared in the way of original music or even covers by musicians. Not here anyway.

TBH, though I'm glad I'm not the only one who wishes there were more in the way of non-trivial discussion of the arts here, I am dissappointed you left MUSIC out of your "Where is" question. :P

I will be eventually be posting links to my own work here some time in the future. I have about four songs left to spruce up before I'm ready though, that will be posted elsewhere on the web (MySpace, FB, Reverb Nation etc.).

I don't think it's that there are that few of us here. I think it's just that those of us who are very serious about our art don't post here enough to bury the trivial silliness.

I for one, once I'm ready, plan to do something to try to change that (as far as the music aspect anyway), as soon as I'm ready to "go public" as they say.

Well music is a form of art....and in my case my favorite, so its what I post most about in this forum.

But there is also awesome album cover artwork such as:

I think you make a great point, transformingcar, even though I am a complete cultural Phillistine, and don't have a lot of knowledge on the arts, beside popular culture.

But I'd go with the advice Bun has given: start a couple of topics! There are bound to be users who are interested in architecture, photography, painting, sculpture, dance, theatre, literature... Sometimes there'll be a topic, but I agree that music has a disproportionate representation here. I admit, I sometimes treat this forum as 'the music forum', just like we have a music forum over at the comic book message board I frequent.

The first one is a colourised photo, I don't know if it counts as self-made, but the colours are. The second I drew entirely by myself. The third, I used a real photo as a background layer, but the outlining, colours, affects etc. are all mine.

I often wonder the same thing. I love to read, so I think there should be more topics about books. :)

My main passion in life is music so that's why I only write about music.
This forum also has a lack of deep music discussions which pisses me off.
Most people just post youtube videos which is impersonal and unemotional.

The reason why I don't share my art work or writing is because nobody responds. I put all of my passion into my work and it hurts me when it is ignored. We should have a artistic photography thread and a poetry thread. I am afraid to start thread about my passions because they are so important to me.

I think that we need to start several threads on art, photography, books and poetry and some more deep music discussions as well.
Most artist and writers on WP are probably shy. I know that I am.

some of the photo's are of a badly injured dog. the dog has recovered and is happy and lives with a veterinary technician who was part of her recovery. all of her open wounds have healed......... thanks to a hyperbaric chamber.

I've always wondered this, too, since I'd like to see more threads on literature and writing, but haven't been good at starting the types of threads I'd like to see myself.

I think its because visual art and literature tend to be more passive. Not to say there's that much less appreciation of these two mediums, just that they're less of a shared experience and often enough there's less overlap in what people read, who their favorite authors are, who their favorite painters are, thus the ability to really converse on these things gets limited (for books its the in depth aspect, for art its difficult to really 'say' a lot, whereas music can be posted on a youtube link, talked about in almost the same way people talk sports, and people can patch in with next to nothing invested).
