Yes. Quiet so. I like how they consist of four members but sound like more. Just take the way Chancellor plays the bass lines, very different from what you'll mostly hear.
Listen to this and what you hear at the very beginning and the main melody line, that's the bass:

i like tool wouldn't consider myself to be a fan though.

I'm more of an alternative rock kind of person.

Better than the auto-tuned crap being churned out these days.

I have "Lateralus", it's a great album, i think i'll get Aenima next but i'm not sure. I haven't heard a lot of their music apart from that album and a couple of tracks from Aenima

any suggestions what i should buy next?

I love Tool and A Perfect Circle (they have filler tracks, but the good songs are awesome), and Disposition being posted earlier I'd like to say that i can play that. It is actually pretty simple, but shows what basslines would be like if more bassists actually used all their strings.

I really like the following:
A Perfect Circle - The Noose, Magdalena, The Package, Brena
Tool - The Grudge, Forty Six & 2, Bottom, H., Eulogy, Ticks and Leeches

I will be the first to say that they have been degrading though. Lateralus was sweet, but then 10,000 Days was mostly instrumental and focused on thoughts rather than strong emotion.
