I was just wondering if anyone else enjoys reading comics/graphic or even creating comic art?
One of my favourite hobbies is reading a good graphic novel. In fact I recently read the Alias comic book series which was written by Brian Michael Bendis.
There doesn't seem to be as many girls who like reading them but maybe that's just a stereotype????? :D

Yes, I am a fan of the graphic novel

Over the years I have collected many manga series' along with american novels. I mostly buy comics based on how much I like the art, both inside and cover, then the story.

It has caused me to want to draw comics professionally. Writing and drawing my own graphic novel. It could take years, but with both skill and luck, I might make it.

I've seen a few girls reading Death Note or Fruits Basket or some other things; I'm not really into anime stuff. The only graphic novel I have interest in currently is In Odd We Trust.

I usually read manga from Shonen Jump magazine, and I have some of the Knights of the Zodiac (Saint Seiya), Dr. Slump, D. Grey-Man, Bleach, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo graphic novels.

I enjoy good comics. Especially really good comics.
"Preacher" by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon was a great series. A lot of gratuitous shock value type stuff, but it still managed to tell a brilliant story with great characters and great dialog.
Brian K. Vaughan's "Runaways" was also a great series. I know it's still running, but I haven't been reading since the second change of writer. I'm currently reading Vaughan's "Y: The Last Man" which so far is proving to be just as good as "Runaways", yet very very different.
I'll pretty much gobble up anything written by Joss Whedon. The "Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 8" comics are excellent, as were his "Fray" and "Serenity" comics, as well as "Astonishing X-Men" and his brief take-over of the aforementioned "Runaways". Brian Lynch's "Angel" and "Spike" comics have also been rather awesome.
Mirage Publishing's original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics hold a special place in my brain. (I haven't read much of the later stuff, but there was some really awesome stuff going on in the '80s and early '90s. I especially consider "The River" by Rick Veitch to be something of a masterpiece.)
Almost forgot to mention "Deadpool". Joe Kelly and Fabian Nicieza both wrote very well for that character, both comedically and emotionally.
Oh and Alan Moore and Neil Gaiman this and Frank Miller and Peter David that, et.c..

Vince, you have very good taste. Preacher, Runaways, Whedon's X-Men, and Nicieza's Deadpool are all on my list of favorites. Preacher, in fact, is at the top. :)

My favorite comics besides those would be in the following realms;

SUPERHERO:

The Ultimates ( Millar/Hitch version )
Invincible Iron Man ( current series, with Tony Stark's brain damage woes )
The classic X-Men
The current Captain America series with Bucky
The Iron Man stories with Jim Rhodes/War Machine
Anything by Grant Morrison

AMERICAN GRAPHIC NOVEL:

Transmetropolitan
Tom Strong
Elephantmen
The Boys ( not really a superhero comic so much as a use of them to skewer American military-industrial mindsets )
Fell
Noble Causes
The Losers ( just got into this )

And some manga here and there.

I'm reading Bone right now, that's a very good graphic novel :D

A couple months ago I read volume one of the manga Parasyte, that cracked me up! Good stuff! Not safe for children though

Preacher & Transmetropolitan are great... If you've got the stomach for those check out Young Liars

I read comics and manga, but not really obsessively. Regarding comics, my favorites are V for Vendetta, Watchmen, and Star Wars Legacy.

The only manga I really read are Naruto and Claymore.

Of all of them, Star wars Legacy is the best. I'm so sad it will end in three more issues. The dark dystopic future of the One Sith Galactic Empire is my favorite era in Star Wars.
