That would be me. I don't listen to them very often anymore--I'm more of a classical geek now, in my old age--but I still have the entire Maiden CD catalog on my shelf. (Even No Prayer for the Dying and the Blaze Bayley stuff.) Seventh Son and Dance of Death are my favorites. And the Live After Death DVD. I was very happy when they finally re-released that one. 8)

First proper band I saw live in 1980. Just before they released their first album. Always good value for money live.

At the risk of dating myself as well, yes. But pre-Bruce Dickinson.

I enjoy everything about them except for the lyrics, which I sometimes find enjoyable but which more often sound like they're trying to scare me, or.. I don't know what.

That's how it is for me with a lot of bands, if their songs had no lyrics, I'd enjoy them roughly 1000000000x more, but I can't ignore the lyrics, and lyrics so often are just tedious

99% of the time i ignore lyrics. most bands lyrics make no sense but with iron maiden i enjoy them.

Hah! No Prayer For The Dying is one of my favorites (Brave New World tops the list). Found it in a used CD store a few years back and never really stopped listening to it.

EVERYONE who uses forums likes Iron Maiden :3 I haven't met a forum user that doesn't.

I too like them, although my music tastes are starting to mellow out to softer things such as Brian Eno. But yus I do like them still.

I was heavily into punk when somebody introduced me to Iron Maiden via 'Killers'. That album blew me away. This was back in 1982 I think. Since then I've been a big Maiden fan and finally saw them two years ago at White River Amphitheater in Auburn, WA. Like Ookla I mainly listen to classical music now but I do still have all of their albums. My favourite albums are the early ones (Iron Maiden, Killers, The Number Of The Beast, etc.)
