Have you guys ever experienced this? Have you ever felt like you wanted to post something on WP, but were either too busy or cloudy-minded? If so, I can see where you're coming from. I'm at the point now where writing anything in general is becoming a pain in the butt for me. A lot of people I talk to about my writer's block suggest that I'm lazy. Clearly, they don't know that Raymond Chandler was a slow-ass writer. I need to develop a pace. I love Stephen King and Philip K. Dick for the amount of dedication and heart they put into their lightspeed-writing, and the resulting products are great. Likewise, I love how Alfred Hitchcock had his entire films frame-by-frame already figured out in his swarthy head before he even got the cameras rolling. There are advantages and disadvantages to pantsing and planning. Pantsing brings out a lot of stuff from within, ideas you never knew that you had. The problem is, you're going to have to do a lot of editing by the end. Planning brings more organization, but is creatively restrictive.

I think I've rambled enough, because I have nothing else to say.

On WP no, but writers block sucks no matter what you're trying to write. Hardcore.

Hey Giftorcurse. I had to look up 'pantsing' because I'd never heard if it. How does one pants? Thanks.

It's short for writing by the seat of your pants.

I'm going through a spell of writer's block with a short story I'm working on, right now. And I hate myself for being lazy and a fraud for it - like every other time I've gone through such an episode. But, I also know that eventually, the block with dissipate, and I'll be producing again.

I tend to be more of a "pantser" than an organizer.

I'm writing a story that is out of sequence, then I am going to splice it together and fill in the gaps. There is nothing farther than pantsing then that.

I get ideas quickly but I realized them slowly.
I have many notes on paper but when I start writing I stumble over small unimportant logic problems.
After some time I got a new fantstic idea. Sometimes I try to combine with my other ideas, or I start something new.
I can't stay long with an idea.
And when I had to write in English and not in German I'm much slower.
