I found that using the poem form
Helps me to discover things
That I never knew before
Using the poem form
Helps to connect in way
That other people say
Is meaningful

Loosing the logic
choosing the form
enables exchanges with different ranges
that say more and say it more truly
For its not artistry I seek, or beautiful words
Just expression,
compressed with power to speak beyond me

I write poems but in casual writing I use prose form.

My hypothesis is that the nature of thinking rhythmically, thinking about the shape and allowing for free associations of words to emerge gives insight into thoughts and/or emotions that my conscious mind tends to avoid. Possibly because of the potential emotional content, which i have learned to distrust.

I like this explanation.

I agree. It sometimes feels like listening to a part of the brain that has otherwise been quiet. I'm often surprised by what is written.

Poetry helps me to express myself better on paper. I’m not good with grammar and all the technical bits when it comes to writing, poetry finds the flow I need, short poems.

Interest never sleeps
kept awake by ambition
a light of hope
at the end of every dream...
