I am recently rereading the novel - I loved it ever since I was 6, though I had to do with an adaptation made by some Polish writer, not with the original version, which is boring, as I checked. It has a third person narration, unlike the original version. I like books, in which characters find themselves on a deserted island. The book belonged to my uncle and I always demanded it, whenever I visited him :)

I liked him, as presented in the Man Friday - the movie from 1975 :) Quite a different point of view :)

Robinson Crusoe’s story was pinched from the real life story of a man who actually got stranded on Crusoe Island for real. There was no man Friday, unlike Robinson Crusoe, he was stuck on the island for five years and not two and a half years as the book depicts. I don’t know the man’s name (Ignorance on my behalf) but the Island should have been named after him and not Crusoe.

^.^ His Home is in lower Largo I believe. Not far from where I live. There's a popular coastal Hotel named after him as well. And well . . a Plaque dedicated to him.
