I bought a few Velvet Underground CDs just a few days before Lou died. Obviously my fault then.

I've been listening to a fair bit of Arcade Fire's Reflektor. I'll give it some more listens before settling on a final opinion but so far I'm not really enjoying it as much as their past albums. The title track is great, though.

Also picked up Sky Ferreira's Night Time, My Time. I didn't really know what to expect picking up the album as she's never really seemed to settle on a particular style of music, even within the same record. Again, I'll give it some more listens but so far I'm not really liking it. The lo-fi sound really kills it for me. In some music this can be a boon but here it makes it sound like a collection of demos.

I've also received Cut Copy's Free Your Mind, Gossling's Harvest of Gold and MIA's Matangi but have yet to listen to them, though I've been looking forward to all of them.

I have Reel Around Me by Soda Fountain Rag in the mail. This is the first CD I've bought since...uh, since CD-Rs were invented. :P

I don't even like the title track.

I really disliked The Suburbs as well, apart from the title track. Seems I'm in the minority about it.

Arcade Fire are one of those bands that did such great work early on that they'll probably never really surpass or even match that quality ever again.
