This seems as good a place as any.
Here is something I originally wrote for Chuck Wendig's "Flash Ficition Challenge", but I think also belongs on a site like this.
The challenge was to make a story 1000 words or less about a character made on the Random Fantasy Generator. Wendig has a real thing for random generators like this.
The character I got was "a timid barmaid is reluctant to fight, despite great skill at it."
