Yes. I have the 48 CD set of Johann Strauss' waltzes. And no, I haven't listened to them all yet.

Waltzes have been used to great effect in pop, and in country music as well as in 19th centurey classical.

Jerry Jeff Walker's classic "Mr Bo Jangles" (covered by both the Band, and by the Dirt Band) is great evocative story telling song that utilizes the spinning feeling of the waltz beat to portray the title character.

There is a mild but definite waltz beat in the Rascals sixties classic "How Can I By Sure". I like Gloria Estafan's cover version even better than the original.
