So I don't know that too many people here like them at all, but I wanted to see what people think of their new album, 'Darkly, Darkly Venus Aversa'. My cousin thought it sucked but me and my brother listened to some songs from it and kind of disagree. Seems more like Dani Filths vocals are just not where they used to be and so he was trying some different vocal styles. Also they have aged quite a bit and have released quite a lot of albums so maybe they deserve a little slack.....The songs I heard were good, just rather different than their previous stuff.

I saw them at Ozzfest bout a decade ago, and they put on quite a show. It was second stage during the day, but I bet with the right budget and stage they could rival Marilyn Mason showmanship wise. My taste musically runs a little mellower anymore though. I can't see your link right now, but will definitely check it out.

Cradle of Filth's older material from Principle to Midian is legendary, after the latter the band went completely downhill. Despite Godspeed, there has been very little to get excited about COF anymore.

How one band can go from writing dark, erotic and mesmerising masterpieces such as "Queen of Winter Throned" and "The Forest Whispers My Name" to churning out naff tracks like "Temptation" baffles me. Dani Filth's screams aren't what they used to be.
