Okay, so I went and downloaded GIMP 2 earlier today. Have any random tips that you could give me?

Whats GIMP 2 anyway, I thought myself how to use adobe photoshop and illustrater when I was 12 and have been using both programs to create digital art, mainly for video game race cars as well is saving lots of money on artwork for vinal decals as the cutter cuts on illustrater's lines. The toolboxs on most of these programs are based along the same lines. The biggest thing in digital art I learned is a low res image cant be made any bigger then 10% and to make everything large to start for the same reason and to orginise your layers well in more complicated work.

GIMP 2 is like a free version of Photoshop.

Thanks for the tip!

Its easier to make shapes and things like that in a program like illustrater becouse of everything being high res and easy to adjust since the lines are made of meny adjustable anchor points that can be added or moved. Then drag and drop into your photo editing program then adjust size and colour. How you approch digital art and what programs you use depends entirely on what your planning on doing.

Its been a long time since I payed alot of attention to what programs people use now a days since I always got mine from a family members workplace and thats now long gone. There are a few dental and tool catalogs out there somewhere with logos I traced at home to help dad out.
