Aspies drawing facial expressions

Okay, so I found a random list on deviantART labeled "Common Expressions to Draw," so I went ahead and gave it a try, because I had no idea if I would be any good at them or not.

I'm about halfway through the list, and I realized that it takes a lot of reference for me to be able to draw these kinds of things. Some of them that I thought would be easy were actually pretty difficult, while others are actually quite simple and easy to do. I'll scan them in later and post what I have (it's just a bunch of random sketches in ink of a character I made), but I was curious: are any of you good at drawing facial expressions?

The list:

1. Happy - This was actually one of the harder ones. I didn't like the way it turned out when I drew it.
2. Sad - Probably the easiest one for me, droopy takes less space and effort than bright and perky does.
3. Pleased - Another hard one, but it's easier than happy.
4. Angry - moderately easy to draw, also amusing when I got it right.
5. Confused - if you make it more of a minimalist approach with this one, it's not very difficult.
6. Tired - OMG SO HARD I DON'T EVEN-
7. Shocked/Surprised - I had to do a side profile for this part of the list, because it was really hard.
8. Irritated - I'd say medium, but it was really fun to attempt this one.
9. WTF?! - I liked the way it turned out when I drew it. Probably the second easiest one so far, too.
10. Triumph - Another amusing one for me. Not really hard to do, either.
11. Fear - Another amusing one, by far the easiest that I've done so far.
12. Bereft (Loneliness, for those who don't know this word) - Another hard one, but the way it turned out was enough to satisfy me.
13. Flirty - Very easy, and the way it turned out was kind of cute.
14. Serious - Another easy one, self explanatory.
15. Silly - Medium difficulty I'd say. Kind of cute, too.
16. Hollow/Blank - Easy. I could relate to this one as an Aspie.
17. Incredulous - A lot easier than I thought it would be, but still a little challenging.
18. Confident - Easy, I guess it's similar to (and easier than) drawing happiness.
19. Fierce - I... failed tremendously at that one.
20. Despondent (Depressed is a good synonym for this word) - A little hard to make the eyes look sad BUT not too sad.
21. Drunk (:lol:) - Relatively easy, and funny.
22. Rage - Easy, mainly because of the style I drew in. It might be harder in a different style.
23. Sarcastic - Medium, kind of cute.
24. Disgusted - I failed at this one too...
25. Ill/Nauseous - I couldn't do it toward the front, so I got lazy and did the back of my character's head.

So, do you think you could draw these 25 expressions? (I can do most, but not all. )

Well, I'm not much of a drawer, so I probably can't draw any of these well xD.

That said; maybe the flirty expression could look like me a little? :3

Awesome job! I really like your artistic style and the character you created. Laughed at Rage and Nauseous, haha. I think these'd be really difficult for me, too, so I can appreciate the effort it took to find proper references.

I couldn't even draw a blank/neutral expression that looked right.

It was actually pretty helpful, in a weird way.

It's mostly good, but some of them look a bit off.

I think the "confused" could have the eyebrows closer together, like they're straining their eyes or having to think hard. It would be easier with someone with short hair as you would see the forehead wrinkle. Don't ask me exactly how to draw it though as I doubt I could make it look right.

Oh no, I welcome any suggestions! I'll give it a try next time I draw something like that.

I've just completed my drawings for this, shall upload them later. I tried just doing a made up character but they didn't seem convincing so I drew myself instead because it's easier to feel the expressions from inside my face, I didn't use a mirror or reference pics. This was really fun to do, I'd love to do more challenges like this. Maybe a draw a body language challenge.

Can't wait to see them!

Ooh, body language stuff would be terrifying... I'll have to give that a try. Well, after I finish the request list that I got over the last 24 hours...
