in dutch from a french writer, org in english ?
found the english; The House I Loved - Paris, France: 1860's. Hundreds of houses are being razed, whole neighborhoods reduced to ashes. By order of Emperor Napoleon III, Baron Haussman has set into motion a series of large-scale renovations that will permanently alter the face of old Paris, moulding it into a "modern city." The reforms will erase generations of history—but in the midst of the tumult, one woman will take a stand.

The Best Horror Of The Year: Volume Thirteen.

Valentine's Day present from my wife. Anthology of what the editor has judged to be the finest short horror fiction of the previous year. So far so good.

This last one was a quiz book made during the 2020 Covid Appeal for BPM:

It consists of 400 Brontë questions and I'm rather surprised / proud that I scored 303 ! !

Not bad at all, considering some of the questions were very obscure ! !

I just noticed this comment from two months ago  (Sorry!)
Yes I like Mrs Gaskell very much
She was Charlotte's friend and first biographer
My favourite gothic shorts are The Old Nurse's Story and Lois the Witch

My favourite of her novels is Ruth:

How would I find them? ^

I don't opt for notifications on anything I write, and I have killer ADHD, so it's a crap-shoot whether or not I see responses and questions.

Sorry about that! Next time just kick me if I don't reply.
