I didn't really know where to put this. I don't know if there are any Portishead fans on here. But after listening and watching (the very few interviews) with her she strikes me as someone with AS or Social Anxiety Disorder. What does anyone else think?

I think it's rather nosy and invasive of privacy to raise the question in any public forum.

If she does have it, it is her business, not yours. Leave her alone.

Well, her music is touching and kinda unique. Artits like her tend to have something, or just a hard childhood.

I don't see why anybody should be above objective analysis and how this is detrimental to them. It's not like we're some sensationalist tabloid.

To the point - no. She just seems shy and reserved.

This is the way that rumours are started.

She is obviously an excellent musician and a very private person. She is very highly unlikely to reveal if she has a condition or disorder so any speculation will not be proven.

I can understand that people want to identify with well known talented people. But in this case I feel privacy should be respected too. For others who choose to court public interest I would feel differently.

Honestly, I've no idea. I'm a big fan of their first album, and to a lesser extent the 2nd. The appropriately titled "Third" album I've never taken the time to properly listen to - I've got to put that on my to-do list. But really I don't know much about her beyond the albums, I haven't read up on her or anything like that, or watched any interviews. That said, I don't know if she's an aspie or not but if she is, she sings with a lot more genuine emotion than what I'd expect to hear from an aspie.

Maybe or maybe not, either way I certainly do enjoy the music.

I think it is up to her to explore this question not us.

I have no idea. She kind of puts herself out there emotionally more than other musicians do, so I can relate to her lyrics better than most.
