I have been a fan of his music since the day I was born. I was born in 1975 when he was at his height fame-wise. My mother was a huge fan and had all his albums. She saw him several times in concert. I saw him once when I was 6 at Canada's Wonderland (would have been 1981 Some Days Are Diamonds Tour) but I don't recall any of it unfortunately. My mother stopped listening after 1983's It's About Time when he divorced Annie. I kept listening though. I love his melodies and his lyrics. I love the way he sings about nature and peace. When I'm having a bad day or feeling down his music picks me up again. My goal one day is to see the Rocky Mountains for myself. I was very sad the day he died. My mother started listening to his music again after that. So...anyone else enjoy his music too? Favorite songs?

Mine are:
I'd Rather Be In Colorado
Looking For Space
Farewell Andromeda
I'd Rather Be A Cowboy
This Old Guitar
Leaving On A Jet Plane
Rocky Mountain High
My Sweet Lady
Poems, Prayers and Promises
The Mountain Song
I Want To Live
Singing Skies and Dancing Waters
Shanghai Breezes
Let Us Begin (What Are We Making weapons For?)
Eagle and the Hawk
Whispering Jesse

I really like John Denver's music. So beautiful and heartful. I like "Rocky Mt. High" and "Calypso" among others. My husband has a cousin who is schizophrenic and had an obsession with John Denver that was so strong that she threw herself off of a rooftop when he died. Luckily, she lived, but wow.......
I met John Denver at Lake Tahoe in 1981 when he played there. He was a really nice, quiet, friendly person.

I love John Denver. My favourite song has to be 'Annie's Song'.

Dhawal:
I've come across the one before, but not the second. Thanks. Or as John himself would put it at the end of his shows: "Peace my friends. Thank you!"

Mummy of Peanut: That's a good one. My Mom gets a little cynical when it comes to this song. She says how can he still sing it when he divorced her?

Annies Song, a classic, I remember seeing John Denver singing the song on Top of the Pops.
