Be it songs, artists, or entire albums, I'm pretty sure all of us musicians (electronic, electric, or acoustic) have a primary source of inspiration for our own work. I know I do.

I just listened to Aesthetic Perfection - Inhuman. Just curious - how do they classify this? Electronica? It sounds new wave-ish like Ministry except for the screamo bits.

What would Blue Stahli's ULTRAnumb be classified as? Nu Metal? The scream vocals and regular vocals reminds me of Linkin Park.

Celldweller - When they're just singing then it sounds good. Reminds me of Disturbed or Staind. The scream bits shut me out, though.

Wikipedia classifies AP as electronic-industrial, but I hear both some new wave and futurepop in Inhuman, as well as dance. Most AP tends to fall closer to industrial or EBM, though.

Electronic rock or industrial metal, mostly. But Bret pretty much goes wherever he wants to with his music. Same with Klayton of Celldweller.

He uses it sparingly, most of the time. He's better at making use of screams than most, I think. At least you can still understand him when he does.

There are so many inspirations I have for my music. I became a professional musician when I was in high school. Music has been an extreme interest of mine since I was young. So let me list a very few that were incredible inspirations for me. As far as beginning my interest in electronic music (and probably music in general) I give thanks to Jean Jacques Perrey. I owe him so much for fueling my interest in music. He is the one that did a lot of the quirky electronic music in the late 1960s. Perhaps his most famous work (which he co-wrote and performed with Gershon Kingsley) was the Baroque Hoedown which was used for the main music theme for Disney's Main Street Electrical Parade.

For my inspiration on the Hammond organ, I listened to a lot of Lenny Dee organ music. I have modeled much of my organ style after him. I was also amazed by the Magic Organ back in the 1970s.

There's so much more I could list, but I hold it at that tonight.
