This reminds me a lot of the 90s dance/happy hardcore that was popular in the Netherlands at the time. Dune, DJ Paul Elstak and so on. I find the Japanese covers almost the same as the original, especially numbers 1 and 3. I really don't hear much difference.
I think it's more effective for covers to be covered in another genre. Just an example I could think of: Tears don't lie
