I know he's pretty heavily criticised because he uses technology instead of instruments, but I am really addicted to him!
I think it relates to my Asperger's, I find the repetitive patterns really soothing and addictive and I love to stim to his tracks.
Just wondered if anyone else is the same. :)

Wow that IS good. Full of energy but patterned and not overwhelming. Awesome!

He used to be the lead singer of a Post-Hardcore Band, he went into electronic music after he had to leave as he was damaging his vocal chords.

Yeah I used to love From First To Last when I was 13, strange how he has crept back into my life again.

I love Skrillex. I don't care what people think of his music or if he's over-rated or whatnot. The first song I ever heard by him was Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites and With You Friends. These songs also mean a lot to me because they remind me of a good friend I left behind in Calgary with whom I don't talk to anymore.
Is it just me or does a lot of people with AS seem to like techno music in general? Do you think it has something to do with bringing out our emotions?

This is my favorite Skrillex song. It reminds me of my own mind, and my mom agrees.

Possibly, I know for me personally it helps me stim and release energy. I find the repetitiveness really addictive, if I listen to one of these songs I put it on repeat and listen to it about 30 times. I don't know if I've ever felt an emotional release though.

I agree with you on the energy part. I find that especially trance music brings out my emotions. Deadmau5 brings out my emotions big time.

I do love electronic music. Drum & Bass and Trance are my favorites. I am honestly not a fan of dubstep, in general. There are, however, a few dubstep remixes I've heard that I actually like, but that's about it. And, I'm sorry, but I can't stand Skrillex. I tried to get into him, but it just wasn't working. I even tried Deadmau5 a bit, but I couldn't even deal with him for extended periods of time. IDK I guess I've always been into more obscure stuff. It's in my nature.
