What type of music you like to listen to when your down my fellow aspies? When ever I have a bad bay. I listen to music that is slow, cheerful, and a bit relaxing. On some nights I do tend to go for a more louder, and energetic tone like rock, or pop music. My taste in music is quite massive. The song in the link cheered me up after I was a bit depressed about the weekend I had. It brought my spirits up afterwords with bit of a smile on my face. :) [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-RLb1PjaO0[/youtube]

am unable to recognise how am feeling but listen to a lot of different types of music.
a favourite song of mine that will listen to every night over and over [and recommend it to others]-
the lisa lougheed version of; the racoons opening theme tune- run with us [the racoons was an eightees cartoon, but the LL version of it is amazing].
a poorish quality upload of it can be found here-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jCIHM617Vs

will listen to a lot of stuff from steve lawler, derrick carter, scratch perverts,dj icey, pete tong and jeff mills,to [some of] vanessa maes music, jimi hendrix, dream theater, UNKLE & james lavelle on his own, and oldish slipknot.

When I'm sad, I NEVER listen to slow music; it only accentuates my sadness.

The best song for waking up when drowsy or depressed is "You Really Got Me" by the Kinks.

I like 60's-70's popular music, blues, early jazz, especially that which is not Dixieland, synthopop (at times), even ragtime.

I like a lot of music. I could talk about great music for hours.

Sometimes I'm in the mood to listen to post rock, "Thee Silver Mt Zion - Mountains Made of Steam" is particularly good, or if I am trying to try be more cheerful, I might listen to some electroswing like "Parov Stelar - The Phantom (extended version)". Son Lux has some cool stuff too like "Son Lux - Raise" but that is probably a bit odd for most people.

Son Lux - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtJAQ9Jw8C4
Silver Mt Zion - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unb3m_6ceZQ
I cant find the extended version of the Parov Stelar song, so here is another good one instead. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPkH4TMbeVc

I wish i could chat about music all night but I imagine everyone would stop reading after a couple of paragraphs.

I'd be interested in your take on early rock-n-roll and its transition from R & B.

If I need a mood boost I will usually listen to celtic / medieval inspiation / pagan folk such as Faun, Omnia, The Moon and the Nightspirit, etc.

If I need energy, metal ! Especially Serj Tankian and System of a Down. Mike Patton too, those days.

If I need some more meditative/intellectual mind set, nowadays I listen to instrumental indian music, especially Ravi Sankhar.

I love Parov stelar, and his work. what was because of him thats gotten me into electric swing. My favorite song of his has to be "Catgroove". Speaking of swing songs, There this awesome swing song that I found called "The Swinging Man" by Jazzbit. Its like listening to a 1940's music while the video itself is a strange Disney cartoon. Alice Francis is another swing artist I love. Between" St James ballroom", and "Shoot him down" being one of my favorites. Awesome to see someone who also knows electric swing. :o

While I like top 40 hits most days, good classic rock is my go-to / feel-good music for when I'm down. Southern Cross by Crosby, Stills and Nash is my favorite.

I am a fan of Alice Francis as well. I've been buying pretty much any music put up in the parov stelar label store (etagenoir). I almost put catgroove as my Parov Stelar link but changed my mind at the last minute. I'm really enjoying Swingin' Man as i type this too.

Do you listen to much original swing / swing revival as well? Andrews Sisters or Squirrel Nut Zippers ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sxFyu_U2go ) or anything? Now that i have found that there is a music forum on here (on account of the thread being moved) i should hang out in it. I love finding new music to listen to. Last week I bought some Lyre le Temps and Kormac albums. Oh! I have to share Caravan Palace while we're discussing electroswing.

These guys have 2 albums which are pretty solidly fantastic all the way through.

My tastes are fairly eclectic, but I mainly listen to rock. I particularly like metal and atmospheric stuff.

I have heard of Caravan place thanks to a Funny Team Fortress 2 video. The song in the video is one of my favorites even though I don't listen to the band as much. Its catchy. I have a taste for some 40's and 60's music however. One is this underrated classic. Glenn Miller's Serenade In Blue. Its so slow, romantic, and the Orchestra is just top notch. Another song that I loved so much that I could not stop listening to it until 12 am has to be Burt Bacharach & Herb Alpert's "This Guy's In Love With You". I found this song over a year ago while watching this lovely movie called "Seeking a friend for the end of the world". This song matched the mood of the movie, and my attitude at time which was the feeling of regret. The lyrics from my prospective just speak the feeling of missing out. Not noticing someone love until its just too late. Its quite an emotional, and personal song on love . And I love every second of it. :D

Oooo. good ones. While we're talking Glenn Miller, my favourite has to be "doin the jive"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smoNfOSoHq4

and if you've never heard it before, Scott Bradlee and Postmodern Jukebox doing "God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman" is fantastic...

but i dont limit myself to one kind of music, so now for something completely different, here is

Tune in tomorrow night. Same Bat-time, same bat-channel.
