Does anyone have a fascination with a particular musical instrument?

For me, it's the double bassoon (also called the contrabassoon). I like the deep sound of them, it sounds like someone is farting (or as Rodney Dangerfield said in Caddyshack, sounds like someone "stepped on a duck").

Tim

i played the clarinet through middle school and high school. about 8th grade though, i was fascinated by the bass clarinet, for the same reason u like the contrabasoon. i loved the deep rich sound. never got to play it though as there was only one of them in my band department and some other kid beat me out of it (dunno how though, i was a much better musician than he was, oh well).

I love guitars. Actually, I love all stringed instruments (including pianos). I've been trying to find a good violin for sale around here but no place has them :(.

Guitars, specifically, the Gibson Explorer. I also enjoy MY acoustic guitar, harmonica, Resophonic guitars, Dobros, and fretless basses(I can't play a fretless, but they're damn cool).

Cello, you can make it sound very sweet or very agressive and you don't have tu use effects to do that. Jorane and Apocalyptica are a good exemple.

I'd like to get one but it's too expensive.

Wow, this thread is 8 years old!

Anyway, I am also fascinated with old medieval instruments, such as the rebec, shawm, and sackbut--predecessors to the violin, clarinet, and trombone, respectively.
