I'm giving up on my series that I have been busting my ass on since 2013. Nobody is interested. Nobody wants to read it. Let's face it I'm a crappy writer.

Have you made it available for people to read to determine if they are interested or not though? Or you just do not think anybody would be interested?

Listen, don't give up on yourself. As a writer myself (albeit unpublished as of yet), I can confirm that I'm by far my own worst critic, and that I certainly understand the depths of despair you're going through right now. If you think your writing is bad, it doesn't have to stay that way, as writing, like any other art, gets better with practice. Maybe all you need is a little time off from writing in order to give yourself a little perspective when you look at it again at some future date. But please, don't make any rash decisions about quitting your art.

The advice about taking time away to get perspective is good. Do you find that you worry too much about what an audience may think of your writing? I've written daily for years, and I find that I enjoy my work more when I do it purely for myself. I have a much lower opinion of a piece of writing when I worry about audience perception instead of judging it by whether I find it satisfying and entertaining. It is best to create for yourself. At least that way you get pleasure from what you do even if no one else likes it. I also feel like my favorite pieces of art are the ones which draw me into their world, which says to me that the creators made that art for themselves and hoped others would find it interesting. Good luck with your writing and, if it's something you truly enjoy, don't give up.

While I do worry that some editor someday might look at my work and call it crap, the greatest, most debilitating criticism still comes from me. To be sure, though, there is absolutely nothing wrong with writing for yourself. Stephen King has said that he writes primarily for himself, and that others just like it. Good luck with your writing.

I was told that nobody is interested on DeviantArt by another user.

My brother told me that its a bad Kingdom Hearts with demons. He's never read it.

I wish that people would read it before they say stuff like that. I've posted my work here, too.

Have you tried submitting your stories to a real publisher?

Aphelion takes submissions and publishes the ones they think are worth reading.

Give them a try: "Aphelion Webzine".
