I decided to read those just today! Have you read Elantris?

I have. Not his best, but it's his first so I'll cut him some slack.

^Well, I liked it.

I enjoyed it too. It's far from being bad. But it's still nowhere near as good as his later stuff like Mistborn or Stormlight Archives.

^I haven't read Mistborn yet. What's it like?

It's, in my opinion, the best book ever written by the best author of our time. The first book in the original trilogy is still my favorite. The first Sanderson book I ever read was Warbreaker, but it was Mistborn that made me a fan of Sanderson. It's fast paced, it's exciting, it's got three dimensional characters that play off each other perfectly, and the magic system is both understandable and still mystical. Read it. I'd recommend it even over Stormlight Archives.

^I bought the boxed set of Mistborn as well as Elantris yesterday. They should arrive within the next week. Have you read the Alcatraz books?

The Unicorn Chronicles

I have not.

^Those books are absolutely brilliant; comedic genius at its finest.

"Rats and Gargoyles" by Mary Gentle- a madly inventive riff on Renaissance alchemy, set in a city ruled by giant talking rats. The spine of my copy is almost unreadable by now, it's that creased.

Well, I've read the first book of Mistborn. I thought I had the big plot twist figured out, but I was dead wrong. Vin spent a bit too much time going to balls, in my opinion.
