How to make Weighted blankets

I'm starting up a little crocheting business and I wanted to make weighted blankets to donate to families with autism for every few blankets that were purchased but can't find any of the weighted pellets that are affordable... does anyone know how to purchase this in an affordable way?

I have no idea where to get weights. But I did have the idea of just sewing in regular rocks into a blanket. They obviously don't weigh as much as lead, but if you have a thick enough blanket, and enough rocks, wouldn't it be possible to achieve a similar effect?

You'd have to think about the choking hazard of marbles, depending on the age/capacity of the intended recipients.

It's a lovely idea.

small dumbbells should add a nice amount of weight.

Or chains? as long as they're really tightly sewn in so they don't rattle.
