Do you find the whole one location idea difficult to write?
I and probably most writers are taught to write a one location story, since that means a filmmaker won't have to look for other locations as much.
But since I have done filmmaking as well, I find this to be more difficult to write. A location owner in real life, is going to be much more okay with letting you use their location, if you tell them it's only for 8 hours compared to if you said 8 days for example.
Another thing in writing that I read was, after you are done writing a few drafts, to combine scenes. But the problem with combining scenes is that more actors have to be available if you combine scenes.
It's probably easier for 2 actors to be available for a scene
at different times, then to shoot compared to having all 4 available at the same time, if you combine two scenes together for example.
So even though I read to cut scenes down and combine them, it actually makes shooting more difficult for availability reasons, and therefore, I'm not sure other writers should write this way, unless I am wrong?
