It's not only Latin---that's for sure. I bet there are Latin roots, and other roots, combined into words.

James Joyce did this sort of thing in "Finnegan's Wake."

Try German. A quick Internet search turned up a reference to "Grimoirium Verum", which is written in German.

They are names of demons.

It's probably some deformed Hebrew->Greek->Latin->German->whatever, the more exotic and obscure, the more magical it would sound.

I a lot of folk "spells" were deformed Latin - I heard "hocus pocus" comes from "hoc est corpus"...
