What can affect you so much time later with just words?

I recently came across https://chrono.fandom.com/wiki/Book_of_Poems and https://chrono.fandom.com/wiki/Poet

I last played it more than a decade ago (I really should replay more, but there's a certain quality to not overdoing it...) - regardless, when I read those, and inevitably remembered (just a bit) the scene, it was this emotional punch (but it might also have something to do with the fact it resembles my situation right now so much... apart from the time travel...)
