This list goes to eleven. It’s one better, isn’t it?

Image

- NoMeansNo
- SNFU
- Fugazi
- Killing Joke
- Metallica
- Slayer
- Rammstein
- Meshuggah
- Tool
- Nine Inch Nails
- Skinny Puppy

Not necessarily bands I still listen to regularly, but ones that inspired me the most, whether for their records, innovations, commitment to their art or beliefs, or legendary live performances.

We got some good taste on this thread

Since people are including metal and I kept my list strictly rock, my top metal bands would be:

Iron Maiden
Black Sabbath
Judas Priest
Dio/Rainbow
Rhapsody of Fire
Symphony X
Kamelot
Mastodon
Meshuggah
Katatonia
Porcupine Tree (if you consider them metal and not rock)
Sunn O)))
Tool
Opeth
Danzig
Angra
Rage Against The Machine
Helloween
System of a Down
As I Lay Dying
All That Remains
Dethklok

I wanted to trim it down to 10 but I failed

Dare I say, a fellow Sunn worshipper?

I used to be a HUGE fan of Katatonia. Their last couple of albums really fell short for me though, sadly. "Fall of Hearts" was incredible. I don't know what happened with the last two :(
