I'm just learning about a singer named Harry Styles and I'm confused because he's in his 30's but single and childless!!

Does that make him a bad role model for other men?

Shouldn't he be home teaching his kids to play cricket, or piano??

Won't this lead to the downfall of society???

On another note:

I notice he looks a bit like some other performers because of his white skin and short brown hair.

For reference:

It must be a conspiracy.

Also, his clothing seems expensive whether it's conservative, or sometimes sexy like Freddy Mercury.

Hmmmmm.

I've just read that he uses a private jet worth $50M.

Does he deserve to be successful or is this all just a media ploy to promote a bad singer but more importantly why on Earth doesn't he quit his career, get married, and have kids????????

Childless and single at (or after) 30?

How could that be considered "bad"?

Wikipedia wrote:
Styles has received various accolades, including six Brit Awards, three Grammy Awards, two Ivor Novello Awards, three American Music Awards, and three MTV Video Music Awards. His film roles include Dunkirk (2017), Don't Worry Darling (2022), and My Policeman (2022). Aside from music and acting, Styles is known for his flamboyant fashion. He is the first man to appear solo on the cover of Vogue.

I have to wonder if he would be as popular if he wasn't so good-looking.

I don’t listen to their music (apart from Freddie Mercury  ) or know much about them, but I think you make some excellent points. They’re all bad role models…obviously. I won’t let my kid listen to any of them. I’m sure they have no talent anyway since they are attractive. I always try to seek out unattractive musicians, so that way, I can be sure of their talent and ability. I don’t really care much about what critics say or about the awards they’ve won. It comes down to having asymmetrical facial features, a very high or very low BMI, and questionable fashion sense.

Seriously, TP, how does Mr. Styles' music stack up against the music of a genius like Mr. Mercury?

(FYI: I once got an entire busload of tourists to perform "Bohemian Rhapsody" on the way to Las Vegas.  Great fun!)

@TP,

Agreed. ^

Another thing. Apparently he's been in lots of relationships but never settled down with anyone. He reportedly dated a popular singer named Taylor Swift, but rather than putting a ring on it they broke up and he wrote some songs about her to express his feelings.

I think he should only be allowed to sing about important topics, like muscles, cars, or housekeeping.

Thoughts?

*I'm still trying to figure out how he's voted in all previous UK elections and if he's a free thinker or forced to vote the same every time. I'll get back to you on that.

I really don’t know that much about Harry Styles, so I truly can’t comment on his music.

This is the only song of his I think I’ve heard. I do like it.

These days I try to reserve judgment because I’ve been proven wrong about younger artists in the past, not that Styles is young. I just tend to be neutral until I’m informed. These days I mostly listen to classical or introspective singer-songwriter stuff that’s somehow meaningful to me personally. I know very little about what’s popular now. It doesn’t mean that I consider it less-than. I just am into what I’m into.

Yes, I agree completely. Musicians should avoid having lots of relationships, and they certainly should avoid singing about them. Muscles, cars, and housekeeping are things that all artists should spend more time singing about. The weather is a sound option as well.

^

Love and heartbreak have never been popular topics in any of the arts.
It's especially shameful if they write the lyrics themselves.
More singers should do covers of other bands.

I'd love to hear more cover songs about thermonuclear physics, myself.

I know right?

Give it a catchy AI-created bass line and I'm all in.

That’s true. 8O

We need to have more bald men playing cowbells, but I guess they wouldn’t sell as many records.

I do love me some Michael Bublé music.

Too bad he's not conventionally ugly.
Then he could be way successfuller and deserve it.

Yeah, it’s a pity. He probably gets haircuts, brushes his teeth, and wears deodorant, too. I’m sure he’s just doing that stuff to appeal to women.

He HAS kids, so his hygiene surely contributed.
I don't know why other men don't view him as a role model.

Speaking of private jets, it seems they're acceptable for the world's richest men.
I guess I should cut HS some slack there.
