So far it's been one giant run on sentence. I think the story is shaping to be a decent on but the sentence structures are obnoxious.. Has anyone read this book? Does it get better? It is worth trudging through piles of commas? I am only 20 pages in...

Read it years ago due to interest in Qabalah (Lowry studied it with Charles Stansfield Jones and worked the symbolism into the story.) As I recall the style stays consistent (only becoming more hallucinatory.) There's a movie version if you just want to know the plot. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088322/

Well, I love trippy books so I'll keep at it I guess. Now that I know he had a purpose for writing that way I'll be able keep that in mind. Thanks!!
