i remember watching the sex pistols on granada, on THAT tv programme which caused all the controversy. interesting times...

i like loads of the stuff which mellowed a bit into post-punk - anyone for The Clash?

I strongly suggest that you go back to that music store ASAP and also pick up a copy of Rocket to Russia, and then follow that purchase up with a copy of Road to Ruin.

PS.-- and while your at it,(Seeing as how your in Oz) you should also look around for a copy of Radio Birdman's Radios Appear.

not so much of a punk band, but Vaginal Discharge have been described as "acoustic punk". check them out. they have a full-length "Froth" and a split with Hearseberry Taco, in which includes a GG Allin cover (Darkness & A Bottle To Hold).

Gang of Four are more post punk but they have quiet a heavy sound like Joy Division.
I like alot of New Wave groups like The Buzzcocks, Patti Smith, Television, and Talking heads.

Ooh how could I forget Me First & The Gimme Gimmes, they are a great punk band and are really cool. Also Frenzal Rhomb are my fav aussie punk band, 'Punch In The Face' is a great song.
