So my current obsession is theatre, almost any kind. It doesn't matter if I'm singing in the cast in a musical, acting as a character in a comedy or drama, working backstage on the production crew or even sitting and watching from the audiance. It is absolutely amazing to see the transformation from script and pieces of wood for a set, to a whole show, complete with phenomanal leads, a ton of great supporters, and a massive(or in some cases, not so massive), beautiful set.
My school is heavy on the theatre and acting programs, so I can indulge as much as I want. In my 3 previous years at the high school we have done 6 different shows. The musicals are(from oldest to newest): Music Man, Beauty and the Beast and Ragtime. The plays(also oldest to newest): the Miser(same year as Music Man), Flowers for Algernon(Beauty and the Beast) and You Can't Take It With You(Ragtime). We just finished this year's fall play was a play in the round(done in a black box theatre) called Look Homeward, Angel and auditions for the upcoming musical(Showboat) are in 2 weeks.

I love acting and I love watching. I love actual plays not stupid pantomines (I grew out of them) where it catches your attention and you get an actual thrill. Safly I'm the youngest person in every theature I've gone to, the rest have always been grandads

I used to be really into it. I still enjoy going to see shows, and I can see myself working with the backstage/technical aspects again in the future, but I finally realized that I can't act to save my life. I desperately wish I could...

That's a shame. :x I got sick before auditions for a show once, and ended up helping backstage with costumes, props, scenery, and all that jazz. I really enjoyed it. Maybe you can do something like that if they won't let you have a make up audition.

I love theatre. And only straight theatre. Not musical theatre, which is just illogical and wrong.

But just watching it, I've never felt the urge to perform myself.

Although having said that, I wish I could borrow some children and go to see a pantomime, as it's that time of year. I have many happy memories or going to see pantomimes in my childhood, it was such a magical experience.

God, I love acting; I excel in dramatic roles. The last play I wa sin was my school's production of A Christmas Carol.

I'm alright when it comes to acting.
My best performance so far was back in 9th grade in Theatre A.
Assignment: Perform a rendition of any fairytale.
My group's tale: (I'd like to say The Frog Prince:
My roles: Annoying narrator with high-pitched voice, awesome-voiced butler, and really sexy prince.

I used to be a really good actor before I hit puberty. I was even in a couple of professional plays in the gateway theater in Chester (a very small theater but still). I even got asked for an autograph a couple of times which is probably still my proudest achievement 11 years later. But when I hit puberty I suddenly became really self-conscious on stage, it's like before that I managed to be good without thinking what I was doing and then suddenly I was always thinking about what I was doing and how I looked.

I think theater can be much more entertaining than TV but around where I live there aren't that many interesting plays, the last good one I saw was a particularly gruesome version of King Lea which was very good. It was so powerful I had nightmares about it for about three days afterwords

to all those who can act, i applaud you!
to my fellow backstage workers/techies, all hail! :hail:

yeah, i'm usually backstage and set building starts next weekend for Showboat, so I'll be really busy. our technical director is a perfectionist(mebby he has AS too!) so everything will get done multiple times. (i can't even watch Beauty and the Beast without going insane!)

and -Vorzac-, brava with your performing arts diploma, and break a leg in the future! :)
