I am not sure if you count it as being included in art, music, writing. but I can't do other art work as I suck at it, music, singing and non-technical writing. So photography is my way of being artsy.

So I figured I would start a photography thread.

you can check out my stuff at sharonthornhill.com and I would like to see your images.

Yes! Photography is definitely an art form. And there are more ways now than ever before to express yourself photographically.
For years I did black-and-white film photography with a closet darkroom. But I was getting into the darkroom less and less- it takes a great deal of energy as well as money. I'm fooling around with digital now- eventually I'll get a halfway decent camera and a computer with a screen bigger than a postcard, then I'll be able to do more. It's surprising what's possible even with just a couple of free photo-editing programs.
Go for it and good luck!

Oh darn I thought this was a thread where we could post our photography.

Yes I see photography as an art! Wouldn't mind to have a look see.

Meanwhile I'm no pro but here's mine...

My work can be found at http://picasaweb.google.com/serjohn .
Here is my favorite shot I've taken in the last few years: http://picasaweb.google.com/serjohn/Fla ... 6801117682
I love to do black and white photography and use an old looks like it was run over with a Mack cement truck Nikon F2. For color I now use my Nikon D40.

Don't do photography, I do pictures; armed with nothing but a cruddy pocket camera and a vocabulary that doesn't even include the word "composition", I am charged with taking lame photos of parts of the world no one wants to see so I can have them ignored on google earth. :ninja:

A ways back we had a lovely morning where the mountains were all ice covered though there wasn't a thing in the valley. This is highly unusual, as our "mountains" aren't tall enough to sustain significant weather differences usually. I was able to grab a couple of shots before going to school.

All things aside, the fact that I can take a slapdash auto-bracket series of exposures by hand and still combine them into a recognizable imagine using photomatix is pretty awesome.
