Myself, I listen to music from japan. I just love how catchy the songs are, and the language inspires me to learn more about the people. ^_^

It also fuels my love for japanese pop culture. Things like Anime and Manga.

Sure it does. As long as it is music from countries other than your own.

I often don't know if it's from a different country or not,
but I know that most of the music I listen to IS from a different country.

A long time ago when my age only had one number in it,
I thought that if I couldn't understand the language,
(this is silly...)
then it meant they had so much awesome stuff there to sing about,
and that the reason I didn't know what the words meant
was because I never saw any of the stuff they were singing about before.

(If the music was beautiful sounding, I imagined they were singing about
colors I never saw before around here, and all kinds of happy things.)

How wrong could I be? This sounds beautiful but is sad lyrics.

My favourite band is from Israel, but my favourite music genre is decidedly international.

Melodic Trance/Goa/Psytrance/Ambient Electronica

I listen to a LOT of music from other countries. I don't like J-Pop, but you also have to admit that Japan has had an interesting and influential underground rock scene since the late 60's.

I listen to Nightwish since an aquaintence of mine shared a song or two of theirs. I have two of their CDs now, might get another later. I would like to try other songs from different countries, but I'm a tad picky, and needs to hear some prior to purchase. :)

I listen to a lot of world music. From too many countries to name here. Unlike a lot of Americans, I am not weirded out by different tonalities and instrumentation or foreign languages.
