also im wondering, do you have any ideas/help me with making a hypothetical neurodiverse society?

i remember the idea of people being paid to think of stuff/write stuff/etc and most of it being open-source or the like what someone posted on LJ a while ago

Hypothetical? It would suit me fine to make it reality!

I'm a musician, so here's my contribution: I believe 12-tone music (in the area of so-called "classical" music) is vastly underrated and could stand a revival. My particular area of interest is integral serialism, in which certain musical parameters are linked--for example, pitch, rhythm, and duration among others. In fact, electronic and computer music offers a wide range of parameters that can be integrated, and it makes for (I think) interesting listening.

In some ways, many composers and other musicians seem to view serialism as a dying art form, but I think it still has much to offer. Your neurodiverse society would likely appreciate and encourage this kind of music. I believe that it and certain other kinds of music speak not only to the heart, but most especially to the intellect.

Setting it in the distant future with a whole bunch of different societies opens up a lot of possibilities to explore.

Now and then around here, it's been suggested that rates of Asperger's, at least, are a whole lot higher in Scandinavia than other places. I have no idea if that's true, and I don't think anybody else does either. There do seem to be a lot of people from northern Europe on here.

Anyway, I was wondering about a society of space-faring autistic vikings...

yeah. My whole story is basically the internet...in SPACE (and the internet vs. real life in this conflict, as the core worlds are basically modeled off the older civilizations and societies) :P

and naturally aspies fit in here.

Basically a LOT of techno (yes 'electronica') would be played in this hipothetical society. I was thing of having that being THE 'classical music'. House and Detroit techno would be the Beeethoven or Mozart of the time. :lol:
