I have a question for the gearheads here. I've got a new tune I'm working on, Maji, still on its basic format but I've been having an impossible time getting it right. What keeps happening - I can get it to sound almost perfect on my Logitech Z4's (the crap monitors), the sad part is I can get sounding great just as easily in my Yamaha HS80M's (those I paid dearly for) and - when I put this tune in my car - it falls apart on JL components and subs.
Here's the sample:

Now granted, I *know* this kind of thing can be done right and is regularly. I'm trying to figure out if this is maybe something that I'm doing to the sounds in terms of maybe over EQing? Its crushing me because stuff like this - you have to nail the EQing perfectly; otherwise you've pretty much got garbage. Should I maybe invest in a spectrum analyzer of some type? Get rid of the Yamaha's for something else as they're not doing they're job? Its a monster of a tune (or at least a monster of a base), I'd hate to just sit on it indefinitely or just not let my music progress because I can't spot ways to fix things like this.
Anyway, any takers?
