I am looking for some fellow inklings to meet up with and...
Are there any on here willing to meet up?
=D
if there are please get in touch?
=D

and... this is for ppl who live in the UK ok?
(specifically Hertfordshire)

when I said "inklings" I mean other writers...
like after the first group of people( that included two of the most famous, and sadly deceased, authors) who called themselves The Inklings...

so... I am hoping (at least) to try something new... because I don't wanna go to soe crappy writers club where they set rules down about what material you can and cannot publish...

Inklings was the name of the writing group that Tolkien, Lewis and some other writers had in Oxford. They usually met in the Eagle and Child pub on st. Giles st.: there's a load of stuff on it in there.

Deadboy365, I was half hoping you'd be in Oxford considering the name you're using. XD Good luck finding anyone close to write with. ^__^

Hmmm, you're showing more than a little gall comparing yourself
to Tolkien or Lewis. Do you have the talent and the ability to
write on Christian themes to make good on your brag?
If yes, let's see what you have.

not really but I only used that name to attract people who are into writing like me so the name doesn't stick - it might change at some point...... I dunno :(
btw I haven't yet found anyone like me except my girlfriend who lives on otherside of the county :( (she's in hospital at the moment over the course of the x-mas and new years holidays am hopng to go see her after x-mas and after she's had a little time to recover from the prodders - I mean doctors)
oh well :(
anyway I hope I find more people, who are willing to meet up on a regular basis, in the new year

wish me luck!

I don't go out and meet people, but I'd enjoy hearing from you by e-mail.
Feel free to PM me ! !

"Hmmm, you're showing more than a little gall comparing yourself"? erm... since when did I say I was?
When last I looked I was not comparing myself to any of them and nor do I intend to say I am any better than they are!

And no I most certainly don't write about the dull christian beliefs (modern christian beliefs) into my stories and neither did Professor Tolkien, for that matter. He said to the world that his entire saga was "just pure fantasy" and that was all. Meaning just because he was a religious man doesn't mean he incorporated it into his novels.

I write pure fantasy just like Tolkien but mine is much more different than his but I do not mean that inthe way that I am saying I am better than or greater than the greatest authors whom I have forementioned.

Also I do not brag about my abilities.

And lastly: the only reason why I said this: "so... I am hoping (at least) to try something new... because I don't wanna go to soe crappy writers club where they set rules down about what material you can and cannot publish..."
Was because I do not approve of the way those kinds of "writer's circles" or "writer's clubs" set down their rules. I found a couple of them and went to their websites and tried asking them about their rules and what their rules meant but they never got back to me at all - and that was over two years ago.

That is why I would like to meet up with fellow writers, like myself (who write various kinds of other different things and as long as they are able to travel within Hertfordshire UK because that is where I am living currently), to start a new group of authors willing to share their work with each other and have it THEME based rather than RULE based. And I maybe up to changing the name of this group to something more meaningful rather than calling it "The Inklings 2" as that is kinda... not suitable for this as I don't want the group to be thought of as another group of amateur writers

Final note: Yes I am a Tolkien fan but I DO NOT consider myself to be better than the greatest authors and nor do I intend to create a group that is better than "The Inklings" of Tolkien's time.

Little Red Dragon (am gonna try changing my screen name here to that name)

Sorry Douglas_MacNeill if you thought I was being harsh about what you said to me, but I did not mean any of what I have said here to sound harsh, only to be informing of what I meant in my original post. Hope you can understand.

So long XD

I don't send my stuff over PM unfortunately =(
Reason why is coz some people tend to steal things more easier that way.

However I do blong my stuff on other various websites XD

but I'd rather it were in a group of people and that I can meet them in person and get to know them better XD

I am more the sort of person who likes to get to know people more by going out even though I have Asperger's (it my way of saying "Sod the world!") - my Asperger's is about my lack of social understanding and that is the best way I can is to try my best to break free from this shell by going out meeting people who enjoy doing similar things as I. E.g: writing, art, reading, drawing, painting, etc...

I don't have the means to start a group like I have described and I don't wanna be the group organiser if I did start one as I don't have the confidence for that =(
I'd be the co-creator of the group yet someone else can be the overall group organiser - provided they talk to me in private about the group stuff and some group guidelines (guidelines mean that they are just there as a rough idea of what the group does etc...) relating to what happens within the group.

Rules = more restrictions
Guidelines = less restrictions

Hope to hear back from you XD
