making text an arc in graphics program

Anyone know how to make a nice arc of text in a graphics program such as Photoshop?

I've made some nifty bells with waterslide decals for my wife's birthday and I'm contemplating doing plates next. I'd like to be able to put text on the plate like our daughter's birthday, her name, her stats at birth and so on.

Well, if you just want the text in a simple arc, you could choose the shape in the Warp Text menu. If you want more control, you'll have to create a path first, then create the text near the path.

Make a path, a circle for example, select the text tool, put the cursor over the path, the text tool will change to an I with a curvy line. Click where you want to start the text.

don't know about Photoshop, but what you usually want to do is 'fit text to path'. This may be in Word, I know it's in Corel.

You create the arc, then insert the text afterwards.
