I just wish there was a Aspie dating site.

When has it been forum rules to stop people posting personal information at their own will?

^ It's British for "..check these guys out, they're having a lover's argument!"

haha.

Enjoy the obsessive crushes while they last. You won't have them forever. Sooner or later, you'll figure it all out and laugh at the folly.

i would have thought that removing the personal contact info is a good thing because anyone has access to this thread not just members and its just protecting site members from possible abusive phonecalls

It's a persons own choice. Maybe they want their phone number there.

Flaxibon, I understand EXACTLY what you are going through because I have suffered from the same problem my whole life. I don't call them crushes, though, I call them people fixations, or people obsessions, because I am not always romantically interested in the people I fixate on. These fixations will consume my whole life and my every waking thought. It's maddening!

The only way I have been able to help myself is to try to have several fixations going at once, that way you don't fixate too much on any one person (and scare them to death), and also try to fixate on "things" rather than "people." I have found it impossible to try to stop myself from fixating, it's like there's a certain amount of fixating I must do every day and if I don't fixate that amount I start to get agitated and end up fixating even more intensely.

Yes! I know what you mean. The above paragraph describes me exactly. It always seems such a natural state to me, then I never understand how other people can not be like that.

I have crushes on most female final fantasy charecters...... paticularly Rikku and Paine.

Also Bebedora from Arc 4 Twilight of the spirits.

But for real women, I prefer intellegence to looks any day :D

If two auspies fixated on each other would they be annihilated?

There has only been one human fixation for me, and it lasted for almost ten years. Not that I ever let her know, I mean why ruin a perfectly good fixation with something as cold and hard as reality!
Also it would have been an odd situation, not Jerry Springer caliber, but strange none the less.

It isn't. However, not all people have been on the internet for years and years and may have too much trust and too little "street smarts" to appreciate the risk they are taking by posting personal information. Posting phone numbers on WP is particularly bad, as that tells a potential scammer (1) a teenager with Asperger's Syndrome who has been on the site for less than 3 weeks and *may* be easier to fool than the usual NT targets (2) lives at an easily-found address in Florida, and (3) can be contacted at the published number once an appropriate scam has been created.

What jman did was a simple courtesy. Sometimes it's better to take action first and then confirm whether or not it was neccessary after the fact. If Hunterton wants to put the phone number back into the post he can use the edit button, or post it again with a message telling mods not to remove it.
